Hi, I'm Elaine/Amphitrite, and I am eighteen years old. My hobbies include reading, writing, and web/graphic designing. I have been working with websites and graphics ever since I was ten years old. For a while, I only worked with Paint. I am grateful for that period of time because I was able to hone in on my basic design skills, instead of just trying to make things look cool with Photoshop. I started working with Photoshop about two years after I discovered the joys of designing. Everything I know I either taught myself or learned from online tutorials. Seeing as I have never received formal training in this field, I'm rather proud of what I can now achieve with an empty canvas on Photoshop.Though I've made a plethora of avatars, forum signatures, character manipulations, Livejournal icons, wallpapers, and banners, creating image designs for websites will always be my favorite. There is just something different about having to think about how the image you create will fit into the larger picture: the website layout itself. I am currently pursuing an English major, but I hope that I will be able to go to art school after I get my degree. |
